Having a contractor doing all the work for you will give you peace of mind but installing the system yourself will come with enormous savings.
We want to ensure that DIYers are not left behind, so we will help you save and be by your side through the whole process of installation.
The installation is only part of the DIY aspect but designing and permitting should be done before that.
As we always say, the design is as good as the information provided. Therefore, we will sit down with you and cover everything you want from your solar system.
A quote will be provided afterward for your approval, followed by the permit design Package.
The quote and design package will call for all the needed materials. It’s recommended to wait to obtain the permits before shipping.
Two Permits are required, One From the city and the other from the electric distribution company.
1. City Electrical Permit
For the building code, there is no need to be an insured contractor since you’re working on your own home to get the permit yourself. All you have to do is fill out an electrical permit application provided by the city.
Remember to inspect your roof with an engineer to ensure it’s suitable for all the extra weight that will be added.
2. Interconnection Agreement
To fill out the interconnection agreement, one must go through an installer, but don’t worry; we can cover that for a low flat fee.
The utilities will mainly ask to provide a layout sketch and a single-line diagram showing the AC disconnect and the manufacturer, model, and quantity alongside other information in their requirements checklist.
Once all the permits are available, we will get your order shipped so you can start installing your system without any risks of change in design. After installation, the inspector will give you approval then you can commission the system and get permission to operate.
Heads up, it’s not going to be super easy, but it will be worth it, and we will be by your side through the process.
